FAQ
Why do I need a weblog management system like SparkBlog?
Numerous research reports show that Weblogs can breath life into corporate knowledge portals or information intranets. Weblogs offer an intuitive way to navigate through corporate information as well as for company staff to communicate with each other and share information that would otherwise be locked away in individual hard drives or files beyond the reach of people who need it. SparkBlog allows you to quickly be part of the blogging phenomenon without investing a lot of time and money to do so.
What do I need to run SparkBlog?
SparkBlog runs on Macromedia Coldfusion 4.x/5/MX (http://www.macromedia.com). You’ll need an ISP that supports Coldfusion or if you have your own servers a copy of Coldfusion running on the server.
Can I use the free developer edition of Coldfusion MX to run SparkBlog?
Yes. The free developer edition of Coldfusion MX can be downloaded from http://www.macromedia.com. The only restriction of the developer edition is that it only responds to a single IP or domain.
How quickly can I install SparkBlog?
Typically installation takes under 5 minutes. Run the executable, add a Coldfusion datasource, configure two application.cfm files and you’re ready to go.
I tried adding content in another language to the Demo blog but it didn’t display properly. Why?
SparkBlog has currently only been tested with English language. We plan to roll out support for multiple languages in the future.
